چکیده

The chromaticities of the Munsell Renotation Dataset were applied to eight color-appearance models. Models used were: CIELAB, Hunt, Nayatani, RLAB, LLAB, CIECAM97s, ZLAB, and IPT. Models were used to predict three appearance correlates of lightness, chroma, and hue. Model output of these appearance correlates were evaluated for their uniformity, in light of the constant perceptual nature of the Munsell Renotation data. Some background is provided on the experimental derivation of the Renotation Data, including the specific tasks performed by observers to evaluate a sample hue leaf for chroma uniformity. No particular model excelled at all metrics. In general, as might be expected, models derived from the Munsell System performed well. However, this was not universally the case, and some results, such as hue spacing and linearity, show interesting similarities between all models regardless of their derivation. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A Study of Relationship Between Color Inconstancy Level and CIELAB Color Coordinates

In commercial point of view, it is of great interest to find colors with high color constancy level. Color constancy as a relatively property of object’s appearance could be affected by different factors. In this article, the color inconstancy index of CMCCON02 and CIELAB color coordinate of 1269 samples of Munsell at CIELchº color system to study any correlations, was calculated. The correspon...

Color Reproduction of Facial Pattern and Endoscopic Image Based on Color Appearance Models

Declaration This is to certify that this work has been done by me and it has not been submitted elsewhere for the award of any degree or diploma. Abstract In recent years, many imaging systems have been developed, and it became increasingly important to exchange image data through the computer network. Therefore, it is required to reproduce color independently on each imaging device. In the stu...

Transforming reflectance spectra into Munsell color space by using prime colors.

Independent researchers have proved mathematically that, given a set of color-matching functions, there exists a unique set of three monochromatic spectral lights that optimizes luminous efficiency and color gamut. These lights are called prime colors. We present a method for transforming reflectance spectra into Munsell color space by using hypothetical absorbance curves based on Gaussian appr...

Prediction of color reproduction for skin color under different illuminants based on the color appearance models

In this paper, we study a color reproduction method to match the appearance of skin color images on CRT with a hardcopy under various viewing illuminants. Three color appearance models, von Kries, Fairchild and CIELAB, were applied to predict color reproduction on CRT display. Optimum color appearance model to predict color reproduction was estimated by psychophysical experiments based on the m...

Modeling Trichromatic Color Appearance with Only Two Spectrally Distinct Photopigments

Protanomaly is a common abnormality of color vision in which the long wavelength sensitive cone is lacking. Protanomalous observers are trichromatic with reduced ability to discriminate colors in the red-green part of the spectrum because the photopigments that mediate discrimination in this range are abnormally similar differing in one of two ways; first, by only a few nanometers in peak sensi...
